Bristol HarboursideBristol Harbourside around the old dockland area of Bristol is an historical harbour located in the city centre and has been redeveloped in the last years. New buildings and features have been built and some of the old buildings and warehouses now are museums, galleries, arts centres, shops, wine bars, pubs and restaurants. The harbour is a well known tourist attraction. The Millenium Square has three amazing attractions: the Explore is the UK’s most vibrating hands-on centre, the Wildwalk leads visitors on a colourful journey through our living planet and the IMAX Theatre has a movie experience to remember. Brunel’s famous ship, the first great passenger liner SS Great Britain, is being restored on the quayside and the replica of the Matthew in which John Cabot sailed to Newfoundland lies next to it. Pero's Bridge is a beautiful new structure spanning the water from the Arnolfini to the At-Bristol site. Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge spans the Gorge above the River Avon with a very interesting visitor centre on the Clifton side. .: Go Back » Best of Bristol |
