Maps of Dover

Dover is a city and major ferry port in the county of Kent, in South East England. It lies in the valley of the River Dour surrounded almost entirely by chalk cliffs also known as the White cliffs of Dover. In order to protect the port they constructed artificial breakwaters which extended the land area, so the port lies almost entirely on reclaimed land.
It borders France across the narrowest part of the English Channel and the Kent's districts of Canterbury, Shepway and Thanet. The town is the administrative centre of the Dover District and home of the Dover Calais ferry through the Port of Dover. It has being the focus for entering and leaving England since ancient times.
