Getting to LeedsBy air Leeds is very well served by its Bradford International Airport with direct flights to Leeds from a wide range of UK’s and other European cities. Leeds Bradford airport is about 10 miles north-west of the city centre, outside the suburb of Yeadon. Cabs are in plentiful supply and there is a regular bus service (the 757) into the city. By rail Leeds is easily reached from any part of the country. Its modern train station is one of the biggest of England with regular trains almost from all over the country. The Train Station is just off City Square, in the heart of the city centre. From London the train service is operated by GNER(Kings Cross) & Midland Mainline(St. Pancras) , the journey takes 2-2.5 hrs, from Manchester/Liverpool by TransPennine Express with a journey of about an hour, from York, Newcastle the journey takes about takes 20-30 min., and 90 min. respectively. There are a plenty of buses serving to the city centre and taxis are available too. By coach Leeds is served by Nacional Express with regular coaches arriving from the major US’s cities. The Yorkshire Coastliner bus connects Leeds with York and the beautiful Yorkshire coast. Leeds Bus & Coach station is in the east of the city centre, near Quarry Hill close to Playhouse. By road Leeds is located in the centre of the UK’s motorway network, hence is easily reached by road from all parts of the country. The M1 motorway provides a direct road link with the Mid-lands, London and the South, as well as connecting to the A1 to the North East and Newcastle. East-west links are provided with the M62 motorway, providing access to Hull, Manchester, Liverpool and the North West By ferry Leeds is accessible from the ports of Hull and Harwich, which is only an hour away by train, car or coach.
